SIX MORE FAMILIES IN BOSANSKI PETROVAC NOW HAVE A NEW HOME

Six internally displaced families received the keys to their new homes in a newly constructed building in Bosanski Petrovac at a ceremony that took place on November 19, 2015. The construction is a result of the Project “Support to durable solutions of Revised Annex VII Dayton Peace Agreement Implementation Strategy”, funded by the EU/UNHCR. The housing component of this project is  implemented by Hilfswerk Austria International. Municipality Bosanski Petrovac provided co-funding as well as the land for construction, a building permit and revised project documentation. The project started in 2014 and its implementation will continue untill the end of 2016 in Bosanski Petrovac, Gradiška, Prijedor, Derventa, Maglaj, Bijeljina, Brčko District, Živinice, Mostar and Foča.

SIXTEEN SOCIAL HOUSING UNITS HANDED OVER TO BENEFICIARIES IN BIJELJINA

On November 17, 2015 a festive ceremony took place in Amajlije, Bijeljina. Keys to 16 newly constructed housing units were handed over to beneficiaries. The building was constructed within the Project Social Housing System that is funded by the European Union and implemented by Hilfswerk Austria International HWA in cooperation with Foundation of local Democracy FLD.

SHS project had an objective to establish a self-sustainable system of social housing as the best way for solving the problem of housing in general.
Bijelina city administration has significantly supported this project and had a good understanding of the concept of housing in general. They actively participated in the project implementation and provided co-funding in the amount of 120.000 KM, as well as the land for construction of the building with all the necessary permits. RS Ministry of displaced persons also co-financed the project in the amount of 50.000KM

FINAL CONFERENCE FOR SOCIAL HOUSING PROJECT HELD

The final conference for the EU funded project “Social Housing System (SHS) – Development of an Integrated Model in Theory and Practice,” was held in Sarajevo on 11 November 2015. Project results and the most important recommendations for an integrated sustainable model of social housing in BiH, were presented. 

Within the project, six housing buildings were constructed in the municipalities of Jablanica, Prozor-Rama, and Stari Grad Sarajevo, the cities of Tuzla and Bijeljina and Brčko District BiH. In total, 63 housing units were built for eligible beneficiaries in need and allocated to the families in line with principles of social housing.

The conference was chaired by Head of Cooperation in the EU Delegation in B&H Mr. Melvin Asin and HWA Director for BiH, Suzana Jašarević and it hosted a number of partners and guests from domestic institutions.

On November 4, 2015 the keys to 16 homes in Ši selo in Tuzla were handed over to beneficiaries for their use on the principle of social housing. They are situated in a residential building which was constructed within the project Social Housing System (SHS) – Development of the integrated model in theory and practice. The project is funded by the European Union with significant administrative and financial support of local authorities and implemented by Hilfswerk Austria International HWA in cooperation with a non-governmental organization – Foundation of local democracy FLD.

Tuzla city administration has significantly supported this project and the concept of social housing and actively participated in project implementation with cofinancing and land for construction with all the permits.

JablanicaOn October 20, 2015 a festive ceremony took place in Jablanica Municipality. Keys to eight new housing units were handed over to beneficiaries for their use on the principle of social housing.

The building with eight flats has been constructed within the project Social Housing System (SHS) – Development of the integrated model im theory and practice. The project is funded by the European Union with significant administrative and financial support of local authorities and implemented by Hilfswerk Austria International HWA in cooperation with a non-governmental organization – Foundation of local democracy FLD.

Jablanica Municipality has significantly supported this project and the concept of social housing and actively participated in project implementation with cofinancing and land for construction with all the permits.
