As the implementation of the Raiffeisen Bank funded project for post flood recovery assistance continues, on June 8 HWA visited Elementary school „Musa Ćazim Ćatić“ in Gradačac and „Hasan Kikić“ in Gračanica and donated equipment worth 6000 KM.
Hilfswerk Austria International continues to assist residents of the flooded settlement Fojnica in Maglaj Municipality. Refrigerators, electrical cooking stoves and washing machines have been donated to the families whose household appliances were destroyed by flood. Despite of the constant rain, the beneficiaries were delighted to receive the donation, which is another step towards normalisation of life after devastating floods. This donation was made possible by the funds of ORF-NiN foundation from Austria.
HWA continues humanitarian activites financed by ORF-Neighbour in Need (NiN) foundation In Fojnica settlement, Municipality Maglaj which was heavily devastated by floods in May 2014. On May 20. 2015 the donation of seeds and seedlings and the first phase of delivery of agricultural equipment for residents of Fojnica has been completed.
The aim of this component is to alleviate the consequences of floods and assist the recovery of agricultural production and sustainability of life in this flood stricked settlement. The delivery was attended by Maglaj Mayor Mr. Muhamed Musabašić. Besides the already completed reconstruction of flood damaged 20 housing units in Fojnica settlement, within this project financed by NIN HWA is also implementing the construction of river bank reventment at Bosna river for the purpose of protection of housing units from erosion, as well as the donations of greenhouses and household appliances.
On May 18. 2015, HWA delivered a donation consisting of 90 books, a laptop and a fax/scanner/copying machine in the total value of 2550 KM to Public Library in Šamac, thereby implementing one more component of the Raiffeisen Bank funded project for assisting post flood recovery.
